The Xiro and Tony Akins Show!

There was a such a buzz in the gym when word that Tony Akins was playing in this year's Atlanta Classic. Tony Akins to those who do not know of him, is a highschool basketball legend in the state of Georgia. Mixed with Korean and Black, he represents asians and minorities well. He lead his Berkmar Highschool team to a state championship and won Georgia Highschool Player of the Year. He later received a scholarship to Georgia Tech and was a 4 year starter. He is currently play pro ball in Europe.

But the dream matchup between Tony and the current number one player in the country Mr. Xiro, was about to take place. The second game of the tournament featured the Teddy Bears vs NS2Faded, and all eyes were on Tony vs Xiro.  Even though a lot of players did not seem to be impressed by Tony Akins play, expecting  him to dominate the game. They knew there was talent on the court. Tony seemed to be holding back trying not  to get hurt, very understandable. But Xiro as he always does, was Xiro. Spectacular shooting display and moves, proving, he is still the top player in the country! The game was close all the way, with the Teddy prevailing by 3 points over NS2Faded. And after talking with Tony after the game he said, "I really like that guy, he's got a lot of game." So Xiro has a new fan I think. You could tell that those in the gym glad they were witnessing history of asian basketball. Two great young men that showed, we asians can acheive things with hard work and are very  talented. It was great for me to watch, and but it was a great moment for asian basketball. Thanks Tony and Xiro for giving us a memorable tournament.
